Robert A. Braastad, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Braastad specializes in adult cardiology. He was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and received his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is also Level II certified in CT Angiography. Dr. Braastad joined IHLA in 1995. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), McLean County/Illinois State Medical Society, American Medical Association (AMA), Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). He currently serves as President of IHLA and Medical Director of the IHLA nuclear department. Dr. Braastad also serves as a principal investigator in pharmaceutical research studies with the Illinois Heart and Lung Research Center, S.C. Dr. Braastad and his wife have two daughters.
